Om, Chill & Boogie Down to Chinatown

Recently UrbanSCAPE launched it’s first urban Yoga and Mindful Movement Festival at Lepark, Singapore.  If you’ve never made it up there, Lepark is a funky restaurant bar that sits atop the Peoples Park Complex in Chinatown.  The outdoor rooftop space allowed for roughly 300 yoga participants to sweat it out on their mats while taking in groovy beats and a beautiful birds-eye view of Singapore.

This type of yoga/wellness music festival has started to trend in cities like New York, LA and London, so it’s no surprise that, the most savvy wellness media in town, is pioneering the way for Singapore.

The evening was full of excitement and camaraderie among fellow yogis.  In contrast to a typical night out clubbing, these party-goers donned their sexiest leggings and sports bras, while the cold drinks happened to be of the cold-pressed juice vary.  Various health, beauty and wellness partners participated by setting up shop and offering the best of Singapore’s fitness gear and paleo-esq F&B.

In case you missed UrbanSCAPE this time, you’re going to want to get your tickets now for SoulSCAPE, September 12, 2015.

The theme for SoulSCAPE this year is Gather Your Tribe and will focus on the feeling of a communal village party and the idea of a collective consciousness and oneness. This will be an even bigger party set on the grounds of Tanjong Beach Club, where just last year, the event was host to over 1,000 festival-goers who took part in the all day activities.  This year’s activities include over 20 workshops and classes including:

  • Yoga
  • Acro Yoga
  • Healing
  • Dance
  • Surfset
  • Community Games
  • Kids Games

The highlight of the evening will be the sunset yoga session on Tanjong Beach Club’s Sentosa Beach front, with live music by DJ and yogini Amanda Ling, aka DJ Doopz.  Obviously a far cry from your typical yoga studio, and a perfect opportunity to re-energize your practice.
