Quick Trip To Thailand? Anyone?

IMG_7999

For my recent milestone birthday, I was lucky enough to hop on over to Thailand to thoroughly enjoy a week of beach, boats, sport and delicious food.  While there are a ton of great quick trips from Singapore, I just can’t resist Thailand, when I get the opportunity to go.  The trip also gave me the excuse to go shopping for a few fun things like a new bikini, cover up, outfit, etc… I’ll put my favorites here including the swimwear line Luli Fama.  AH! I just LOVE their pieces!!! They NEED to open a boutique in Singapore. ASAP Please!

This time, I stayed at the Renaissance Marriot, Phuket, which was nothing short of absolutely fabulous.  Despite the occasional language barrier issues, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.  The hotel is situated on Mai Khao Beach: straight up paradise.  The water is crystal clear and super calm which makes for some great swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding!

This hotel has fabulous food, many healthy options, with a variety of cuisines to choose from, though their fine dining Thai restaurant is where you want to go 🙂 You can request a beautiful private dinner on the beach, complete with lighting and fresh flowers, or take the shuttle to Patong or Phuket to go to the markets and check out local restaurants.

One of my favorite meals was at Baan Rim Pa Group, in the hill in Phuket over looking the water.  The view was picture perfect and the ambience was luxurious and intimate.  I would highly recommend this restaurant if venturing out of your resort.

Another MUST on the itinerary is to go to Phi Phi Islands.  Ideally you want to stay a couple nights, but you can also just go for a day tour.  Here you get to be out in the open water, snorkel, and visit some very special islands.

Of course, no trip to Thailand would be complete without a proper spa day, and I can say that the Thai Massage I got at the  Quan Spa was maybe one of the best massages I’ve ever had.  Heaven.

Best of all, going to Thailand and having an incredible, memorable holiday doesn’t have to break the bank.  You can find tons of deals at great hotels on Expedia and for us living in Singapore, it’s practically on the corner, so going for a weekend-getaway is still a great option.  Though, you might find yourself a tad heart-broken when you get on the plane to go home… Or was that just me….?
